The Netflix challenge will pay $1 million for anyone who improve Netflix's customer suggestion system by 10%, i.e., achieves an error score less than 0.8563. The best one until now is 0.8675 from When Gravity and Dinosaurs Unite and the increase and lower and lower.

When no one expected, Just a guy in a garage appeared as an outside contender. He is a psychologist that says he has out-of-the-box strategies and the others are suffering from a kind of "collective unconscious". His name is Gavin Potter. He's a 48-year-old Englishman, a retired management consultant with an undergraduate degree in psychology and a master's in operations research.
